Update regarding CPU usage for Android Oreo and up

Unfortunately, with the addition of Android Oreo, access to the CPU usage stats has been restricted. As a result, CPU usages will not work on devices running Android Oreo. However, I have released a beta version of the app that is compatible with rooted Android Oreo devices and should work fine. If you encounter any issues with the BETA version on your rooted Oreo device, please provide feedback or send an email. Thank you.

Update regarding Active Processes monitor on Android Nougat and up

A beta version of the app has been released that includes an Active Processes monitor for devices with ROOT access. To install it, you will need to become a beta tester. Please note that the beta version may have some bugs, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Due to underlying system changes in Android version 6.0 and up, certain features of Simple System Monitor may not function properly. Additionally, starting from Android Nougat, the Active Processes tab will only display Simple System Monitor itself. This restriction is imposed by Nougat's limited access to the /proc directory where information about running processes is retrieved from. Please direct any complaints about this issue to Google instead of contacting me. Thank you.

Simple System Monitor is a clean and straightforward system monitoring app for your Android device. It provides graphical representations of various system components.

Features:

• CPU usage and frequencies for each core
• Total CPU usage and average frequency
• CPU frequency graph for each core
• Time spent on each CPU frequency state
• GPU usage and frequency*
• RAM usage and ability to clear RAM
• Network activity
• Disk I/O activity (internal and SD card)
• Test disks' read/write speeds (internal or external)
• File browser with support for basic operations (copy, cut, delete)
• Cache cleaner (optionally requires ROOT)
• View list of active apps and processes and their CPU usage, RAM usage, network activity, PID, and UID
• Kill processes as ROOT (only works on rooted devices)**
• View temperatures of all of the thermal zones
• View battery health and temperature
• Ability to keep running in the background despite being swiped away from the recent tasks list
• Floating mode - shows system monitor data on a small floating window on top of other apps
• Dark UI theme

If you see "..." for one or more CPU frequencies under the CPU monitor graph, restarting the phone should resolve the issue.

*Currently, only Adreno GPUs are supported. In some cases, the GPU stat information may not be available or accessible in the kernel, even if the device has an Adreno GPU. In such cases, "..." will be displayed instead of a frequency. If you do not see the GPU monitor, it means your device's GPU is not supported.

**Using ROOT to kill processes is not recommended and should be done with great caution. I do not bear any responsibility for any negative consequences that may arise for your system or device as a result.

• android.permission.KILL_BACKGROUND_PROCESSES: Required for clearing RAM
• android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, and android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: Required for checking storage space and performing read/write speed tests
• android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: Required for Floating mode
